Monserrate sanctuary (COUNTS FOR 2 EXPERIENCES)

Located at more than 10,000 ft above sea level, Monserrate is a key sight in Bogota's landscape and an important catholic pilgrimage site. After taking a cable car ride up to the top, you can enjoy a magnificent panorama view with the city on one side and the vast Andes mountain range to the other.

The Monserrate mountain has been a place of pilgrimage since colonial times. The present building of the sanctuary, which was finished in 1920, was built in the same spot where a hermitage and a Carthusian monastery were built at the beginning of the seventeenth century. The Sanctuary exhibits a sixteenth-century wood carving of the Lord of Monserrate, which supposedly has healing powers. The name of “Monserrate” comes from the fact that the first chapel was dedicated to Our Lady of the Cross of Montserrat.

Additional price per person: US$ 10

**Important note**: Monserrate counts for 2 experiences since the total time of the visit might take 1 hour of line to go up and another hour to come down.
